How to Apply for Shipping
Step 1:
Evaluate whether or not you require shipping. We offer local delivery on most days of the month to regions within 200 miles of our farm in Lemon Grove, CA. If you're outside this region and okay with driving within 200 miles of the farm, local delivery may still work for you. If you live more than 200 miles away and would like your rats or mice delivered, you will need to apply for ground shipping.
Note: Ground shipping is often provided by a third party shipping service. Their routes are typically pre-determined, so if you're not located along the route you will need to travel to meet them. Please keep that in mind when making any transport requests.
- Local Delivery: Available to Locations within 200 miles of Lemon Grove, CA
- Ground Shipping: Available to Locations 200+ miles outside of Lemon Grove, CA. Ground shipping is only available for adoptions that have a specific shipping route posted. Please see our Locations Served page for more details.

Step 2:
If you do require shipping, fill out our Mouse Adoption Application, or our Rat Adoption Application. If interested in adopting both, please fill out both forms. When placing your reservation, let us know that you require shipping.
Step 3:
We typically do adoptions once a month. When adoption notices go out, there will be an "Available Shipping" section on the available animals page with upcoming transport routes that they're able to travel along. When you select which animals you'd like to adopt, please let us know that you need shipping and which route you'd like them sent on.
Step 4:
Once your animals have been reserved and you have confirmed that pickup will occur with the transport service, you'll then need to pay for your transport, travel expenses, and animals. Whatever fees are agreed upon for transport are due directly to the transport service. The cost of the animals, their food, water, and carriers must be paid to our farm via PayPal or Walmart to Walmart Money Transfer. These fees are non-refundable once the animals have been handed off to the third party transporter. Please understand this and use shipping services with caution. We do our best to carefully vet transport services prior to recommending them, but ultimately it is up to them to get the animals to you safely.
All payments to our farm must be completed at least 24 hours prior to pickup if possible. We understand that some travel arrangements may be made at the last minute, and we will do our best to get your animals out in a time crunch, but we can't guarantee that we will always be able to, so please give us as much notice as possible.
Please submit your transport reservation to the shipping service prior to sending us payment for your animals. We will hold the animals for you once you have selected them, but we cannot accept payment until pickup arrangements are 100% confirmed.
